About Us

Mission

Our mission at the Markham Wesley Centre is to build a harmonious community by creating hope, opportunity and action. We focus on providing enriching programs and essential social and cultural services. We strive to empower people to enhance their lives, promote overall community well-being, advocate for justice and inspire volunteers to love, serve and share.

MWC’s mission statement describes who we are, our fundamental purpose and our role in the community to pursue the truth that “Living for the better is a better way to live.”

History

The Markham Wesley Centre is the product of a collective vision, leadership, determination, dedication, hard work and support from the Federal and Ontario governments.

The idea for Markham Wesley Centre was born in 2011, to meet the needs of a diverse and fast-growing community. The Markham Free Methodist Church graciously offered access to a facility on their beautiful park-like property at 22 Esna Park Drive. After three years of fundraising, planning, and building, our new state-of-the-art facility is ready to serve and enrich our community.
