The below changes will apply to customers who previously purchased gym packages in paper format and still have hours remained unused.

At Markham Wesley Centre (MWC), we’re committed to support every member in our community the opportunities to conduct sports and recreation at our facilities.  We do this by investing not just in renovation but also in the customer experience, from acquiring the technology to the support experience.  This results in removing purchase options that no longer meet customer needs.
 
The Markham Wesley Centre Gym Package was created over 6 years ago for MWC members to buy multiple pre-paid court rental at a discounted price.  MWC is taking a significant step to streamlining facility booking through the new portal experience since January 2020.  Members in our community will benefit from a streamlined process and greater flexibility in how you purchase gym packages in a way that is easy to understand, that directly improve facility booking management, and members with greater control through out the booking process.
Starting January 1, 2021, members will no longer able to buy new gym packages in paper format.  New gym packages should be transacted through MWC portal only.  All new gym packages will have a same expiry date as the MWC membership.  Any unused portion of the gym packages won’t expire as long as members have a valid membership.
Please note:

  • There are currently no changes to the gym booking package values.

  • You continue to have the rights to use the hours acquired through the gym package.

Your options for previous purchased gym packages are outlined below.
 
If you have unused hours on your paper gym packages and have a valid MWC membership:
  1. You can use up the hours remained on your paper package by December 31, 2021, or
  2. To have these remained hours converted into your membership profile.  These hours won’t expire as long as you have a valid membership.
If you have unused hours on your paper gym packages and your MWC membership already expired:
  1. You still can use up the hours remained on your paper package by December 31, 2021, or
  2. To keep these hours active, by renewing your membership.  Once membership has renewed, these hours will be converted into your membership profile.  And these hours won’t expire as long as you have a valid membership.
With the changes we are making to the previously purchased gym packages in paper format and the new gym booking experience through the online platform, you’ll get an easy to understand and streamlined gym booking experience at your own pace, with greater flexibility in how and when you buy and book.  Talk with centre staff about which option is best for your need.
